Summer School
How Summer School Works
Summer School instruction is delivered through our Canvas learning platform. Students may study any time, day or night, and work through coursework at their own pace within the established summer timeline. Academic assistance is available Monday through Thursday for issues such as unlocking or resetting assignments, correcting broken links, and resetting quizzes or exams. Teachers are not available on weekends or holidays during the summer session. Each ½ credit course includes 4–5 instructional modules (units) and one Final Review/Exam module. To earn credit, students must pass the proctored Final Exam with a score of 60% or higher. The final exam score is then averaged with coursework to determine the final course grade. Final grade reports are sent to the parent email address and the school counselor. Students may view their grades at any time through the Canvas platform. The official end date for Summer School is July 31. Any request for extensions beyond this date must be approved by the counselor at your school. Grade reports are sent to school counselors beginning August 1. EXTENDING YOUR COURSE BEYOND JULY 31!! If you need additional time, your counselor will need to email us approving the request for an extension. This will allow you until the end of Semester 1 (December 20), to complete the course. To extend a 2nd time requires another approval and $50 fee. This will allow you to work until the end of Semester 2 (May 20). Click the form below to make payment to extend this course. Adding an Additional CourseIf you need to add a course after submitting your initial registration, visit the Payment tab and select ADD-ON to avoid an additional registration fee. Processing fees may still apply. Enrollment ConfirmationOnce registration is complete, our office will finalize the enrollment process and send a confirmation email containing login credentials and course instructions to the parent's email. Please allow up to two business days to receive this email. If you experience any difficulty, please give us a call and we can assist you. Paper Registration Option Click Registration Form (Paper Version). Complete the form and obtain the required counselor or administrator signature. Mail your check with the appropriate forms or stop by our office. _________________________________________________________________________________ Course Offerings Courses offered through repeat and new credit are. You may enroll in 1/2 credit, or semester, of each course. Indicate this on the registration form.
